U.K. to Boost Brazilian Economy
The U.K. Prosperity Fund is a £1.2 billion portfolio of programs over seven years. The Prosperity Fund Portfolio in Brazil aims to support Brazil’s modernization to facilitate an economic growth and poverty reduction, creating opportunities for international business.
The U.K. agreed to spend 0.7% of the GNI (Gross National Income) in Official Development Assistance (ODA).
The fund aim to provide assistance in sectors and countries with the highest potential for inclusive growth, including Brazil.
The UK’s Overseas Development Assistance (ODA) spend in Brazil has increased significantly since 2015, to well over £50 million a year.
Brazil still shows high levels of poverty with although approximately 55 million Brazilians still live in poverty but with opportunities for productivity growth in Brazil, including: energy, essential infrastructure investments, unlock export opportunities for many companies.
